This new 20,000+ square-foot building will be twice the size of the existing branch on Duluth Park Lane. This project was made possible through an intergovernmental agreement between the City and the County. Under the agreement, the City will provide the land while the County will provide elevations and consult with the City regarding the design of the library and provide maintenance of the property. The agreement also requires the County to complete construction within five years from the time the land is turned over by the City of Duluth.
