MISSION:

The Finance Department is charged with stewardship and oversight of the City’s financial resources on behalf of the citizens and the City council.  Our focus is to ensure compliance with all relevant financial and budgetary regulations, including local, state and federal laws governing financial information.


DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Finance Department provides financial management services to City Council, City departments and the Finance Committee. The department oversees the management of the City’s general fund, as well as specialized funds, prepares appropriate financial reports, prepares and monitors the annual budget, administers the City’s payables and receivables, maintains the fixed asset records, and monitors the City’s cash and investments. 

CITY OF DULUTH BUDGET:

The budget operates on a fiscal year of July 1 through June 30.  The FY21 budget will be posted July 2021.
