City of Duluth residents, please join us for the 6th Annual Community Clean-Up Day on June 10, 2023. For one day only, the City will open its doors at the Duluth Public Works facility to allow residents and only residents an opportunity to clean up any clutter at their home and get rid of it. It's a way to give back to the community in a big way. We can't wait to do it again!

**THIS FREE EVENT IS ONLY FOR RESIDENTS WHO LIVE WITHIN DULUTH CITY LIMITS**

All residents must bring a current utility bill and driver's license to enter the event. This event is not open to contractors, builders, or other construction trades. No commercial materials will be accepted. No vehicles larger than a standard-size pick-up truck will be admitted into the event.

Need your garage, basement, she-shed or man-cave back? Tired of looking at that junk in your backyard? This is an amnesty dump day. We will be accepting the following household items from City residents:
Up to four vehicle tires, leftover paint from your home improvement project, debris from your home renovation project, cardboard, lawnmowers, appliances, grills, furniture,  clothing, electronics, vehicle parts and fluids (motor oil, batteries, antifreeze), garden chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer, and insecticides), household chemicals (toilet bowl cleaner, shower/tile cleaner, carpet cleaner, rust remover), tree limbs, grass clippings, leaves, etc.
We are excited to offer e-waste recycling this year! E-waste includes monitors, desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets, keyboards, scanners, game consuls, printers, TVS, etc.

Come with a smile to meet the City Staff, and we'll greet you with a smile and help you unload.

Duluth N.O.W. may be able to provide residents in need (elderly, disabled, etc.) with volunteer assistance on a case-by-case basis.  Please contact the Department of Planning & Development at 770.476.1790  for more information.
If you have any questions about this event, contact the Department of Planning & Development at 770.476.1790.
The City cannot accept any animal carcasses, hazardous poisons or medical waste. Please be considerate of this rule.

BUT WAIT, why wait until then?

Did you know…. Many of the items you’re curious of how to get rid of can be disposed of at your curbside or by taking them to the Public Works facility year-round.

Republic Services (your garbage company) will take items from your curb year-round if you are unable to bring them to Public Works. Republic will take items like mattresses, furniture, appliances and other household items at the curb.  You must call Republic Services at 678.963.2800 within 24 hours of the Wednesday pick-up to request this free service.  You must also attach a Duluth trash bag to the item.
Duluth residents benefit from having dumpsters located year-round at the Public Works. Throughout the year residents can dump items like appliances, sofas, mattresses/foundations, furniture, cardboard, lawnmowers, grills, old clothing, electronics (TV’s, VCR’s, stereo/computer equipment, etc.), vehicle parts and fluids (motor oil, batteries, antifreeze), old children’s toys, tree limbs, grass clippings, leaves, etc. We are now accepting glass since it is no longer taken at the curb with recycling items. We could not list every item that is accepted here, if you have a question about an item, please call us at 770.476.2454.
