Gwinnett Medical Center – Duluth

Continuing the legacy of Joan Glancy Memorial Hospital, which provided acute and emergency care to the Duluth area for more than 60 years, Gwinnett Medical Center – Duluth fulfills today’s need for expert medical care delivered in a state-of-the-art facility.

Gwinnett Medical Center – Duluth is the first all-digital hospital in the north Atlanta area. With this state-of-the-art technology, the hospital is able to provide more efficient care and a higher level of patient safety. The facility, which opened in October 2006, was designed to provide a healing environment. Natural woods, sunlight and stone combine to enhance patient comfort. Each of the facility’s 81 private patient rooms is decorated in warm tones with hardwood floors and features hotel-like amenities, including a flat screen TV, sleeper sofa, room service menu, voice mail and wireless Internet service. The hospital features:

  • Over 175,000 square feet with six floors, 81 beds and six family suites
  • Specialty care including the Orthopedics Institute
  • Room service, patient-directed visitation program and other hotel-like amenities
  • Expanded 24-hour Emergency Department with dedicated digital imaging equipment
  • Inpatient Medical Group available for in-house patient care, 24-hours a day

While the hospital is totally new, the medical staff combines decades of experience. Here you’ll find some of the area’s most distinguished physicians, the ones you already know and trust, offering comprehensive treatment in a wide range of specialties.

The Outpatient Center at Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth provides outpatient surgery, outpatient endoscopy, outpatient laboratory and diagnostic imaging. The Hudgens Professional Building houses medical offices, Gwinnett SportsRehab and the Center for Screening Mammography.

The Glancy Rehabilitation Center, which is located at the Joan Glancy Facility, offers intensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for clients with stroke, brain injury, multiple trauma and orthopedic diagnoses.

Gwinnett County, through the hospital authority and hospital foundation, has a tradition of strong support for the healthcare community. We take pride in making the latest in equipment, facilities and training available to our medical staff. The facility provides state-of-the-art services in both in-patient and out-patient care.

There are three major medical facilities located within the City of Duluth, as well as numerous nearby hospitals, medical offices and other facilities within a few short miles.
