A work session meeting of the Alcohol Review Board has been duly noticed for the purpose to conduct further discussion as to considering a possible recommendation to the City Council which may allow patrons to purchase from a licensed downtown restaurant and to carry alcoholic beverages (Beer/Wine) in a plastic cup by the drink in “Downtown Duluth”.

The public is hereby notified that there will be a special called meeting of the Mayor and Council on Monday, August 23, 2010 in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 7:00 pm to consider budget amendments, formal acceptance of a grant for stream bank restoration behind Charleston Bay subdivision, and Contingency for the City’s matching funds, and to hold a public hearing regarding condemnation of a portion of property located at 4053 Chaderton Court, which is necessary to construct a public transportation and sidewalk project.
Council will hold the regularly-scheduled work session at 5:30 pm in the Community/Elections room and upon adjournment of the special called meeting if necessary. The public is welcome to attend.

A PUBLIC MEETING WILL BE HELD TO DISCUSS REDEVELOPMENT OPTIONS FOR THE RECENTLY CLEARED LOT AT 3116 MAIN STREET. THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY WILL TAKE PUBLIC COMMENTS AND PRESENT IDEAS BEGINNING AT 7:00 P.M.
A public hearing to discuss redevelopment options and receive public comment for the recently cleared lot at 3116 Main Street has been scheduled by the Downtown Development Authority of Duluth and will take place on Tuesday, August 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the Red Clay Theatre Auditorium located at Red Clay Theatre, 3116 Main Street, Duluth, GA 30096. Demolition of the unsound building located on the site removed the box office, restrooms, and office space dedicated to theatre use. The public hearing will seek input on replacing that space and possibly increasing multi-use options on the site. The hearing will last until all attendees have had a chance to be heard. A quorum of Council may be present, but no official action will be taken.
