Update on Repairs to Frankie Lane

All contracts and paperwork have finally been satisfied, FEMA and engineering requirements have been met and we have issued a Notice to Proceed. Contractors are required to begin work within 10 days of November 30, 2009 and are further required to have the project substantially complete by December 28, 2009. However, barring any weather delays, we expect work to be complete prior to that. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience the road closure has caused. City of Duluth Municipal Run-Off Election

Notice is hereby given to all residents of the City of Duluth, Georgia that a run-off election to elect one (1) member of the Duluth City Council will be held at Duluth City Hall, located at 3167 Main Street, on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The run-off candidates seeking the office of Council Member for POST 3 are Billy Jones and Elise Whitworth.

Absentee (in person) Advanced Voting will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday November 17th through Wednesday November 25th in the office of the City Clerk located on the 1st floor of Duluth City Hall. Absentee voting by mail is also available per state law.

This and all City of Duluth elections are governed by the election codes of the State of Georgia and the Duluth City Charter. For additional information contact the City Clerk’s Office at (770) 476-3434. Information on voter registration may be obtained through the Chief Registrar of Gwinnett County, Georgia at 678-226-7210.

This general runoff election will be a continuation of the November 3, 2009 general election. Those persons lawfully registered and qualified to vote as of 12:00 midnight, October 5th, 2009, shall be eligible to vote this run-off election. Any person who is presently registered as a voter in the City of Duluth but who now resides outside the city limits is not eligible to vote in this election.

CERTIFICATION OF THE LOGIC AND ACCURACY TEST OF DIRECT ELECTRONIC VOTING UNITS FOR THE DECEMBER 1, 2009 CITY OF DULUTH MUNICIPAL RUN-OFF ELECTION

Notice is hereby given, that on Monday, November 16, 2009 beginning at 11:00 a.m., the certification of the logic and accuracy test of the direct electronic voting units to be used for the December 1st City of Duluth Municipal Run-Off Election will be conducted and continue until completed. Said test to be conducted in the City of Duluth Community/Elections Room, located at 3167 Main Street, Duluth, Georgia. All interested parties are invited to observe said certification.

NOTICE OF COMPUTATION & CANVASSING OF ELECTION RETURNS

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-492, notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the returns of all votes cast in the December 1, 2009 run-off election will take place in the polling area in the Community/Elections Room of Duluth City Hall, located at 3167 Main Street, Duluth, Georgia on December 1, 2009 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
