Duluth Rises to the Occasion

A piece of Duluth history was unveiled as a brand new tradition to ring in the New Year was started in 2009! Thousands joined in the celebration which included wonderful entertainment, food, music and of course the amazing “soaring spirit ball” that rose, yes rose at midnight! Entertainment Design Group (the Company that designed the Peach Drop) created this one-of-a-kind celebration for the City of Duluth! The main component, a disco ball, is the largest one ever made. It weighs in at 200 lbs and was surrounded by wings. The best part of it all is that the “ball” will change every year so you will have to come out and see what Duluth does next. Let your Spirit Soar in 2010!
