Outdoor Watering Restrictions (last updated 2/22/08)
The City of Duluth follows State of Georgia water regulations, which are
Level 4 Drought Response conditions in North Georgia (includes Duluth and
Gwinnett County).
Current drought conditions now prohibit most types of outdoor watering,
which include washing cars and watering lawns. Certain
exemptions to State regulations are allowed, but most residential
outdoor water use is now banned. *Update* - as
of 2/11/08, several exemptions were added to the watering ban list that now
allows for landscaping and the filling of swimming pools.

More information on the State's watering restrictions can be found on its Environmental
Protection Division’s (EPD) website:

For information on how best to cope with drought conditions, the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority has come up with a Survival Guide that might be useful for Duluth residents who are affected by the watering ban.
