Public Works - Staff
MISSION STATEMENT:
This departments mission is to keep Duluth moving safely and efficiently while projecting a positive image to non-residents. We will achieve this through a comprehensive on-going program of roadway, street, and drainage maintenance and general outdoor preservation.
CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS:
- Investigate and respond to all service requests as quickly as possible.
- Complete projects in a timely, cost effective manner.
- Make every effort to prevent liability by following established safety and construction procedures.
- Provide a safe work site for traveling public and City workers.
- Conduct thorough equipment checks throughout the year to insure safety of public and City workers.
- Install and maintain traffic control signs as efficiently as demands allow.
STAFF MEMBERS & JOB DUTIES:
Director - Audrey Turner
Oversees and coordinates all daily duties related to the operation of the Public Works Department.
Deputy Public Works Director - Jason Brock
Assists with daily operation of the Public Works Department, serves as Interim in Director’s absence.
Administrative Staff - Kenneth Pitts, Susie Mash
Responsible for all administrative duties related to the daily operation of Public Works.
Public Works Supervisor - Anthony Griggs & Ray Taylor
Supervises and coordinates repair and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, signs, drainage systems, and rights-of-way.
Maintenance Mechanic - Jeff Wooten
Responsible for all repairs and maintenance of City vehicles and equipment.
Heavy Equipment Operator - Leonard Barze
Assists with repairs and maintenance of streets, signs, drainage systems and rights-of-way.
Maintenance Worker - David Flower, James Green, Jack Jones, Frederick Lamb, Chris McElhannon, Milton Williams
Responsible for litter pick-up, rights-of-way maintenance and street and sign maintenance. Assists with overseeing individuals sentenced to Community Service.
Downtown Maintenance Technician - Kenneth Francis
Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the Town Green and surrounding areas.
