Customer Service Standards, We will:
- Offer recreation programs to all ages year round and publicize these activities in the "Activity Guide", through the circulation of flyers, school announcements, news releases and other forms of advertising.
- Obtain citizens input on recreation programs through public meetings with City Council and Advisory Board, program evaluations, surveys and public comment.
- Utilize qualified, trained instructors and staff for recreation programs and facilitating citizen rentals of park facilities.
- Conduct thorough park and facility inspections at least four times a year to ensure complete safety.
- Provide a clean park environment by cleaning all restroom facilities daily during the weekdays, disposing of all trash, responding to vandalized equipment and performing regularly scheduled janitorial and floor care maintenance in all park facilities.
- Maintain all grounds and turf in both active and passive areas by performing weekly inspections on playground equipment, preserving all park trails, and mowing and weeding all public areas.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board:
The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is a seven
member volunteer board appointed by the Duluth City Council. Six members reside
within the City limits and the seventh member may reside within the City limits
or own and operate a business within the City limits. The seven member board
serves two year terms with alternating appointment dates. Four members are
serving 2006-2008, three members are serving 2005-2007. The board provides
advice, and guidance to staff, and elected officials in the best interest of the
City to meet the recreational needs of all segments of the population within the
community. The board is responsible for the development of park facilities that
include projects associated with funding from SPLOST (Special Local Option Sales
tax), recreational policies and procedures, citizen input, budget support, and
public relation support. The board meets the first Wednesday of every month
except for holiday months, January and July in which the meetings are scheduled
for the second Wednesday of the month.
