Mission Statement

This departments mission is to keep Duluth moving safely and efficiently while projecting a positive image to non-residents. We will achieve this through a comprehensive on-going program of roadway, street, and drainage maintenance and general outdoor preservation.

Customer Service Standards

• Investigate and respond to all service requests as quickly as possible.
• Complete projects in a timely, cost effective manner.
• Make every effort to prevent liability by following established safety and construction procedures.
• Provide a safe work site for traveling public and City workers.
• Conduct thorough equipment checks throughout the year to insure safety of public and City workers.
• Install and maintain traffic control signs as efficiently as demands allow.

Staff Members & Job Duties

Director – Audrey Turner
Oversees and coordinates all daily duties related to the operation of the Public Works Department.

Deputy Public Works Director – Jason Brock
Assists with daily operation of the Public Works Department, serves as Interim in Director’s absence.

Administrative Staff – Kenneth Pitts, Susie Mash
Responsible for all administrative duties related to the daily operation of Public Works.

Public Works Supervisor – Anthony Griggs & Ray Taylor
Supervises and coordinates repair and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, signs, drainage systems, and rights-of-way.

Maintenance Mechanic – Allen Bishop
Responsible for all repairs and maintenance of City vehicles and equipment.

Heavy Equipment Operator – Leonard Barze
Assists with repairs and maintenance of streets, signs, drainage systems and rights-of-way.

Maintenance Worker – David Flower, James Green, Frederick Lamb, Chris McElhannon, Steven Maltos, Kenneth Francis
Responsible for litter pick-up, rights-of-way maintenance and street and sign maintenance. Assists with overseeing individuals sentenced to Community Service.

Downtown Maintenance Technician – Denise Bailey
Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the Town Green and surrounding areas.

Dumpster Attendant – Jack Jones
