Parks & Recreation

Mission Statement

The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation will provide the optimum recreational facilities with quality programs to ensure the standard of excellence for all the citizens of Duluth.

Vision Statement

The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Departments aspires to provide long term, quality, safe, diverse and enduring programs targeted for various segments of the local community at reasonable costs. Financially, our intent is to generate maximum returns-on-investment where possible, and to meet the varying and increasing demands of a growing community; but not at the expense of excluding services demanded by the majority of our public. We will attempt to provide sufficient, well maintained facilities and green space with associated recreation activities to achieve minimum standards as defined by the Georgia Parks and Recreation Association.

Park Briefs

The park staff loves to have the community and their pets enjoy all our park facilities. However, please make sure your pets are kept on a leash at all times and please clean up after your pet. We appreciate your cooperation.

Tree City, USA

Did you know that for 21 years, the City of Duluth has been recognized as a Tree City USA? Thanks to the hard working efforts of the Parks & Recreation Department staff. Every year, Woody’s Nursery donates a tree to a City park. To further enhance our efforts, the City has developed a “Living Memorial Program” that people can remember loved ones that contributed to the betterment of the community by purchasing a tree to be planted in the park. This program enhances park environment while remembering those that contributed to the community. Please call us at 770-814-6981 for more information.
