What kind of community to do we want to create for future generations?

What will you do as a member of the Task Force?

You will participate in an educational session, volunteer to be on a topical subcommittee, receive additional materials for review, conduct research on your own (if you would like) and participate in lively discussions.

You will also help draft recommendations that will be presented to the staff and City Council for consideration.

We anticipate holding up to six meetings.

Meeting One

A brief presentation by experts in the some of the areas of sustainability.

Facilitated discussion of possible topical areas for further study.

Distribution of reading material, including citations of useful website.

Meeting Two

Facilitate discussion of topical areas for inclusion in process.

Group discussion of the general content of each area.

Breakout session for each topic and selection of spokesperson for each group.

Initial discussion of content and assignments for further study.

Meetings Three—Five

Topical sessions for in-depth discussions

Report out to the whole Task Force

Meeting Six

Development of recommendations by breakout groups

Report out to the whole Task Force

Prioritization of recommendations

Selection of spokespersons to present to Council and staff
